I was born and raised in the NYC area and spent most of my teen years being cool and looking marvelous. I spent a good portion of my adult life living and working in Manhattan, a place I thought I’d never grow tired of, let alone ever want to leave, but I did. I am currently living in rural upstate NY, raising my daughter full time and loving it. I’m interested in and passionate about travel, photography, reading (especially food memoirs), and cooking. Cooking, with a heavy emphasis on baking is my hobby, a serious hobby, but I don’t take myself too seriously with it. I tend to shy away from food trends and hype, although I’ll try anything at least once to satisfy my curiosity. I believe that cooking doesn’t need to be a chore, that it’s a process that should be fun no matter the outcome, there’s always something positive to glean from the experience. I enjoy the process that goes into creating a meal just as much as I enjoy sharing it with family and friends, but I’m nowhere near being an expert in the kitchen. I make mistakes, and at times there are disastrous and inedible results. I’m learning, and that’s why I started this blog, to chronicle my kitchen successes as well as failures.
